Key activities:

• Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts.
• Investigate historical data for each debt or bill.
• Ensures collections are made on a timely basis, primarily through reminder phone calls and manual email reminders. 
• Processing and documentation of adjustments, including write-offs, transfers, and charge backs.

• Resolve billing and customer credit issues.
• Responsible for a high volume of daily posting, processing, and reconciliations of cash receipts.
• Update account status records and collection efforts.
• Assist with internal reporting as needed.

Education, experience and skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Economics plus minimum 2 years of experience in credit and collections OR in lack of specialized studies professional work experience in Trade/ Finance/ Banking positions for minimum 3 years.
• Strong interpersonal & communication skills with the ability to communicate with people of all levels of the organization professionally in English, additional German, French or Spanish language skill is an advantage.

• Proven experience as a Collection Specialist or similar role.
• Knowledge and experience in balance sheet analysis or following documentary credit.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and databases; Intermediate to Advance level Microsoft Excel skills needed.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
• Comfortable working with targets.

• Skilled in negotiation and problem-solving.
