The selected individual will be part of a 6-person team that manages all aspects of project execution for projects coming into the Project Management Office for Global Information Services. They will be collaborating with various stakeholders to monitor and execute project tasks throughout the lifecycle of the project. In addition, the selected individual will become the subject matter expert for running large project budgets and executive reporting. This individual will oversee the finances from the IT perspective for 1-3 organizationally significant projects. They will also be responsible for training other project managers on best practices of project financials.

Howmet Aerospace has an immediate opportunity for a full-time Information Technology (IT) Project Manager.

Key activities:

  • Utilize technically sound methods of investigation, analysis, design, planning, and scheduling, adhering to the IT methodologies and conventions.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and corresponding tasks to include: project estimates, status communications, and development of master project plans and schedules; monitoring of individual track plans including periodic review with those responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of each project track.
  • Aggressive project management execution to defined timelines and deadlines along with the ability to get things done through supervision/management of assigned track leads as well as external resources.
  • Independently organize and complete multiple projects to meet customers' expectations and imposed deadlines.
  • Use advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Oracle, SharePoint, Teams, ServiceNow to develop spreadsheets, graphs and convey information effectively across a wide range of tasks including daily/weekly reports, meeting agendas, PO tracking, SharePoint development and document management, and project administration.
  • Assist in capital, project and operating budget preparation, tracks monthly progress, flags discrepancies and resolves with proper organization.
  • Development of Project Budgeting and Financial reporting processes and best practice documentation.
  • Works with client departments to coordinate systems testing, installation, training, and support.
  • Project Manager to manage GIS cross-track, multi-department, or internal maintenance projects.
  • Other activities will include participation in PMO process improvement initiatives.

Education, experience and skills:

Basic:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Institution or 7 years of experience in IT project management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience delivering on large and organizationally significant IT projects to include systems analysis, design, infrastructure architecture and programming vernacular, budget management and tracking of Vendor POs and Invoices.
  Preferred:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience providing project management support of which 5 of those years include working on large or significant projects with budgets.
  • Demonstration of experience in project management leading small to medium projects and demonstrate a solid understanding of project management processes, methodologies, and techniques.
